Mona di Orio was a classically trained perfumer, having had the great honour, as a young girl, of working alongside the famous Edmond Roudnitska. Mona developed a style of perfumery that reinforces the richness, complexity and originality of fragrances that recall the glories of the golden age of perfumery in the 1920’s and ‘30’s: Inspired by the quality of the past but with an eye on the future; Unconventional Parfum Traditions.

With a distinct focus on craft and quality, all fragrances are manufactured in France by the company that finds its origin in the glorious time of Mona’s master, making sure the best available quality of raw materials is selected, giving the brand a unique identity and credibility.

Jeroen Oude Sogtoen studied fashion design at the Amsterdam Fashion Academy and worked for 10 years as a fashion designer. He changed focus from fashion to interior design and created alongside field specialists, the concept for The College Hotel in Amsterdam. Whilst creating an amenity line for this Boutique Hotel he started his own brand of Hotel Cosmetics. This brought him in contact with Mona di Orio who created all fragrances for Zenology ®.

Together they decided to build their own Fragrance House based on their mutual expertise, passion and believe in artisinality.

A woman of singular, noble beauty, Mona di Orio incarnated personal vision and ‘auteur’ perfumery, to the delight of everyone who appreciates rare fragrances. Mona Di Orio died on December 9, 2011.
